People seeking UK visa will now be able to use the On Demand Mobile Visa (ODMV) service which allows applicants who are resident in Dhaka to submit their UK visa application right in their homes.

The Dhaka ODMV service is a part of the UK Visas and Immigration’s proactive approach to constant improvement in customer service.

For visa applicants in Dhaka, it means they no longer have to travel to the Visa Application Centre in Dhaka to submit their applications.

The ODMV uses the UK Visas and Immigration’s mobile Biometric Enrolment System equipment to register the biometric data – fingerprint scans and digital photograph – of visa applicants in their residences.

This service is optional and applicants will have to pay an additional fee.

In a statement, British High Commissioner in Dhaka Alison Blake said the UK Visas and Immigration was constantly seeking to improve the service they offer.

This service is delivered by the UK Visas and Immigration’s commercial partner, VFS Global, said the British High Commissioner in Dhaka on Monday.

“I am delighted to announce that the UK is the first country to launch the VFS Global mobile facility in Bangladesh,” Blake said.

“Bangladesh and Britain are close friends and partners and this development is a further step in enabling stronger people-to-people relationships,” she added.
